Challenging sculptural conventions.
About
Pangaea Sculptors’ Centre supports artists, communities and the wider sector to make sculpture that transforms places and society.
Pangaea ensures that sculpture as a process and a provision is accessible, equitable, and environmentally responsible, shaping the sector through innovation and collaboration.
Our Work
We deliver our mission through three core strands: Educate, offering training, learning pathways and skills development that strengthen the sculpture pipeline; Advocate, championing artists while creating tangible opportunities such as exhibitions, commissions and sector support; and Fabricate, providing design and ideation support, digital scanning, art fabrication services, and technical mentoring to realise ambitious sculptural work.
Our Approach
We don’t just make sculpture; we run Pangaea like one. The way we evolve, adapt, and respond to financial, social, and market needs mirrors the sculptural process itself. Just as a sculpture changes through trial and error, iteration, and material response, we test, refine, and shape our model dynamically. This is our USP; a process-driven, artist-led organisation that grows like the work it enables.
Beyond the art world this way of working can be misunderstood and undervalued. But for us, it is essential. It ensures we stay relevant, responsive, and truly embedded in the artistic process. It shapes who we appoint, how we collaborate, and what we prioritise. If we want to build a future where ambitious sculpture continues to shape our cities and empower our communities, we must fund the infrastructure that makes it happen.
