Matthew Stephenson is an independent art consultant and founder of Stephenson art based at Somerset House New Wing, Strand. A specialist in 20th-century and contemporary art, Matthew has a particular interest in the art of Central and Eastern Europe. As an expert advisor to artists estates and collections, Matthew represents the Estates of sculptors Daniela Vinopalová, Anna Mahler and Alexander Archipenko. Previously he held senior positions at Christie’s and PACE London. Matthew was formally Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Photographers’ Gallery and is currently Deputy Chair of the Board of the International Catalogue Raisonné Association (icra.art).
